How should you store cheesecake?
Here's how to properly store cheesecake, depending on the type:
For unbaked cheesecakes:
* Refrigerator: Store the unbaked cheesecake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
For baked cheesecakes:
* Refrigerator: This is the best way to store baked cheesecakes.
* Whole cake: Wrap tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
* Slices: Cover individual slices with plastic wrap or store them in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
Tips for storing cheesecake:
* Avoid freezing: Freezing cheesecake can change its texture, making it icy and crumbly.
* Keep it covered: Cheesecake is porous and can absorb odors from the refrigerator.
* Bring to room temperature: Allow a cheesecake to come to room temperature for about 30 minutes before serving for the best flavor and texture.
* For longer storage: If you need to store cheesecake longer than 5 days, freeze it. Wrap tightly in plastic wrap and then in foil, and freeze for up to 2 months. Thaw it in the refrigerator overnight before serving.
Important note: For a cheesecake that's topped with fresh fruit, it's best to store the fruit separately and add it just before serving.
