Is cheesecake a pie or cake?
The definition of a cake is "a baked dessert made from flour, sugar, eggs, and other ingredients, typically including a leavening agent, and often decorated with icing or frosting". The definition of a pie is "a baked dish consisting of a pastry crust filled with fruit or other sweet or savoury ingredients". Cheesecake does not fit into either of these definitions perfectly, as it is not made with a pastry crust and it does not typically contain flour. However, it is often considered to be a cake due to its texture and appearance.
