What are pop tarts?

Pop-Tarts are pre-packaged, pre-baked toaster pastries that are individually sealed in foil pouches. They consist of two layers of sweetened dough with various fillings, frostings, or glazes in between. The dough is typically made from flour, sugar, vegetable shortening, and various other ingredients, such as natural and artificial flavours. Toaster pastries are made in a variety of flavours and are known for their convenient preparation. Consumers simply open the pouch and place the pastry directly into the toaster, where the heat melts the filling, warms the dough, and lightly browns the outer surface. Pop-Tarts are a popular breakfast food, but can also be consumed as snacks. The iconic Kellogg's brand Pop-Tarts was introduced in 1964 and has become one of the most recognizable toaster pastries in the market.
