How does one make home made candied nuts?

### Ingredients

* 1 cup sugar

* 1/4 cup water

* 1/4 teaspoon salt

* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

* 2 cups nuts (such as almonds, walnuts, pecans, or hazelnuts)

Instructions

2. Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Add the nuts and stir to coat.

3. Spread the nuts out on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 300 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, or until the nuts are toasted and golden brown.

4. Let the nuts cool completely before storing in an airtight container.

Tips

* For a sweeter coating, add more sugar.

* For a saltier coating, add more salt.

* For a more flavorful coating, add spices such as cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom.

* Candied nuts can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
