To make a chocolate coating for candies:

* Gather your ingredients

* 1 package (12 ounces) Wilton Cocoa Candy Melts

* 2 tablespoons vegetable shortening

* 2 tablespoons light corn syrup

Prepare your setup

* Line a Sheet Pan with parchment or waxed paper.

* Set up your candy dippers. You will need either:

- A double-boiler or

- A Glass Bowl

- Small saucepan filled with an inch of water.

* Melt your chocolate

- Combine candy melts, shortening, and corn syrup in the top of a double boiler.

- Bring a saucepan of water to simmer.

- Place the top with candy melts over simmering water. Allow the chocolate to melt slowly.

* Dip your candy

- Spear each piece of candy onto a sucker stick or dipping fork.

- Dip candy slowly into the melted chocolate, covering the entire surface of your candies.

- Slowly lift candy out of chocolate.

- Allow excess chocolate to drip back into the bowl as you pull the candy out of the chocolate.
