It satisfies the sweet tooth without putting inches on your waist. It's even more fun to make yourself. Try this recipe and experiment with different flavors and colors.
Things You'll Need
- 1 cup Splenda 1 cup white corn syrup 2/3 cup water 2-quart pan Candy molds Spray vegetable oil
Instructions
-
Combine 1 cup of Splenda, 1 cup of white corn syrup and 2/3 cup of water. Place over low heat and stir until the Splenda has dissolved completely.
-
Once dissolved, raise to medium heat and cover. After 2 to 3 minutes, the added heat will wash down sugar crystals from the sides of the pan.
-
Once the sides are clear, cook without stirring until the mixture reaches the hard-candy stage (300 degrees on your candy thermometer).
-
Take the candy off the stove and add 1/4 tsp. of cinnamon or peppermint oil for taste. Also add a few drops of food coloring of your choice for presentation.
-
Brush candy molds with light oil and pour the candy mix into prepared molds. Cool and remove from the molds. Wrap in plastic and store in a cool, dry place.
