How long can cake be frozen for?
Cake can generally be frozen for 2-3 months, although some types of cake, such as pound cake, chocolate cake, and fruitcake, can last up to 6 months in the freezer. To freeze cake, it's best to first wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and then place it in an airtight container before putting it in the freezer. When you're ready to enjoy it, let the cake thaw in the refrigerator overnight or at room temperature for several hours before eating. Note that freezing cake may affect its texture and flavour slightly.
