How to Make Cream Cheese Frosting for your Red Velvet Cake

The challenge for this recipe is to keep from eating all of it while you decorate your cake :)

Things You'll Need

  • 1 - 8 ounce pkg of cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • 1 box of powdered sugar
  • 1 stick of unsalted butter (or margarine), softened at room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (preferably clear)

Instructions

  1. Beat the cream cheese and butter until smooth.

  2. Add box of powered sugar and mix well, slowly at first.

  3. Mix in vanilla extract.

  4. Spread on a cool cake.
