Is paprika a fruit and vegetable?
Paprika is technically a fruit.
Here's why:
* Botanically, fruits are the mature ovaries of flowering plants, containing seeds. Paprika comes from the *Capsicum* plant, and its fleshy part is the ripened ovary that holds seeds.
* Culinary, however, we often categorize paprika as a vegetable. This is because we primarily use it for its savory flavors in cooking, like peppers, rather than for its sweetness like other fruits.
So, while paprika is a fruit botanically, we usually treat it as a vegetable in the kitchen.
