Sopapillas
Ingredients:
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1 tablespoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 cup vegetable oil
* 1/2 cup water

Instructions:
1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
2. Add the oil and water to the bowl and mix until the dough comes together.
3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes, or until it is smooth and elastic.
4. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes.

8. Fry the sopapillas in the hot oil until they are golden brown on all sides.
9. Drain the sopapillas on paper towels.

Arroz con leche
Ingredients:
* 1 cup white rice
* 1 cup milk
* 1/2 cup sugar
* 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
* 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
1. In a medium saucepan, combine the rice, milk, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and salt.
2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
3. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the milk has thickened.
4. Serve the arroz con leche warm or cold.
Carne guisada
Ingredients:
* 1 pound flank steak, cut into thin strips
* 1 tablespoon olive oil
* 1/2 cup chopped onion
* 1/2 cup chopped green bell pepper
* 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
* 2 cloves garlic, minced
* 1 teaspoon ground cumin
* 1 teaspoon dried oregano
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
* 1 cup beef broth
* 1/4 cup tomato sauce
* 1 tablespoon cornstarch
* 2 tablespoons water
Instructions:
1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
2. Add the flank steak and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
3. Add the onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, or until softened.
4. Add the garlic, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper to the skillet and cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
5. Add the beef broth and tomato sauce to the skillet and bring to a boil.
6. Reduce the heat to low and simmer the mixture for 15-20 minutes, or until the flank steak is cooked through.
7. In a small bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and water until smooth.
8. Add the cornstarch mixture to the skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
9. Serve the carne guisada with rice, beans, and tortillas.
