How to Make a Simple Buffalo Chicken Sandwich

Tangy and tasty, a Buffalo chicken sandwich takes the spicy flavor of traditional Buffalo wings and places it on a roll. Add creamy blue cheese or ranch dressing as the perfect complement to cool down each fiery bite. The Buffalo chicken can even be cooked ahead and then quickly made into a sandwich just before mealtime.

Things You'll Need

  • Raw chicken breasts
  • Rolls
  • Tomato
  • Red onion
  • Butterhead lettuce
  • Blue cheese or ranch dressing

Instructions

  1. Marinate your raw chicken breasts in Buffalo wing sauce for between 30 minutes and 3 hours. After placing chicken breasts in a bowl, cover with Buffalo wing sauce, cover with plastic wrap and place in the fridge. The longer you marinate, the more flavor will penetrate the chicken breasts.

  2. Cook chicken breasts for 10 minutes until the center is no longer pink and the chicken is done. If cooking in a skillet, place the chicken breasts over medium-high heat, flipping once halfway through during the process. If cooking on the grill, place over a medium flame for 10 minutes, also flipping once in the process.

  3. Slice your roll, tomato and red onion. While the chicken is cooking, slice your roll in half and cut two slices of both tomato and red onion for each sandwich.

  4. Assemble the sandwich by placing the cooked Buffalo chicken breast on the bottom of the bun. Add sliced tomato, red onion and a torn butterhead lettuce leaf on top. Spread 1 tablespoon of blue cheese or ranch dressing on the top bun, add to the sandwich and serve.
