Does a piece of uncooked popcorn weigh the same as cooked popcorn?

A piece of uncooked popcorn weighs less than cooked popcorn. When popcorn is heated, the water content inside the kernel turns to steam, causing the kernel to expand and pop. This increased volume takes up more space and is therefore less dense than the original kernel.
