KitchenAid Mixer Instructions
With the help of a KitchenAid mixer, tasks that used to take up valuable time and energy in the kitchen can now be done with the flip of a switch in a fraction of the time. Whether you're mixing a bowl of cookie dough or whipping cream, a KitchenAid mixer can make the job a lot simpler to do. Following the KitchenAid mixer instructions will help you get the most out of the appliance and prevent possible damage to your machine.
Assembling Your Mixer
-
Before mixing any ingredients, you will need to put the bowl and beaters into place. While the mixer is still unplugged, lower the bowl lift handle if it is not already in a downward position. Make sure the bowl supports are in place over the stabilizing pins. Place the bowl over the pins and apply downward pressure until the bowl snaps into place. Raise the bowl lift handle to lock the bowl into place.
UsingYour Mixer
-
Depending on what you are mixing, you will use either a dough hook, wire whip or beaters. Each tool inserts into the mixture the same way. While the mixer is still unplugged, insert the desired tool onto the beater shaft and twist to the left. You will hear a click as the beater hooks into the mixer. Check your recipe for beating speed and time. For delicate mixtures, such as cakes, you may need to reduce the mixing time by half as a KitchenAid mixer is more powerful than some other mixers. When mixing, always beginning beating at the lowest setting and moving the dial up to the desired speed gradually. Turn off the mixer and scrape down the bowl as necessary, usually once or twice during beating.
Cleaning your mixer
-
Turn the machine into the "Off" position and unplug the mixer. Move the bowl lift handle into the down position. Remove the beaters by pushing them upwards then twisting to the right to release. Lift the bowl up and off of the supporting pins. Wipe the mixer with a damp cloth to remove any splatters. Never submerge the mixture in water. White-colored beaters and the bowl may be washed in the dishwasher. Beaters made of metal should not be placed into the dishwasher. Cleanse in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly before storing.
