How to Cook a Burrito (13 Steps)
Anyone can cook a burrito, no matter how inexperienced they are in the kitchen. This popular, family-pleasing dish offers tremendous versatility -- you can prepare it for breakfast, lunch or dinner, featuring eggs, meat or beans. Cheese and sour cream can add a creamy texture, while salsa and Southwestern spices can impart a zesty Mexican flair. Burritos are a dish where cooks may use their own favorite ingredients, being as creative as they wish.
Things You'll Need
- Bacon or sausage
- Eggs
- Refried beans
- Ground beef or boneless chicken breast
- Tomato sauce
- Sour cream
- Salsa
- Shredded cheddar cheese
- Burrito-size flour tortillas
Breakfast Burrito

Cook two strips of bacon or fry a few pieces of sausage for each burrito. You may substitute turkey bacon for pork bacon, and you may also use beef or turkey sausage instead of regular sausage.

Scramble or fry an egg for each burrito.

Wrap burrito-size flour tortillas in aluminum foil and place in the oven to warm. An alternative method is to place the tortillas in a skillet on the stove over medium heat. It will take a few minutes until the tortillas are soft and warm.

To assemble each burrito, place the ingredients down the center of each tortilla. Start with the egg, then add the bacon or sausage. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese, salsa and sour cream over the eggs and bacon. .

Fold the left side of the tortilla over the filling and roll to the center. Make sure this side of the tortilla is tucked underneath the filling. Fold down the top and bottom portions of the tortilla. Roll the burrito all the way to the right.
Bean Burrito

Open and warm a can of refried beans.
