How to Make Pokemon Cupcakes
Cake decorating isn't limited to traditional cakes. Individual cupcakes can also be decorated to fit a theme. For a theme like Pokemon, cupcakes are a great alternative to a traditional cake. A cupcake's small round size allows for an easy transformation into a Pokemon ball. The simple design of a Pokemon ball makes it easy for even a novice decorator to create a professional looking result.
Things You'll Need
- Red food coloring
- Black gel icing
- Vanilla icing
- Cupcakes
- Small plastic Pokemon characters
Instructions
-
Ice half the cupcake with white icing. Try to make the edge of the icing as straight as possible. In the center of the cupcake make a dime-sized circle with the white icing.
-
Mix the red food coloring with enough vanilla icing to cover the other half of all your cupcakes. The icing should be primary red. It would be better to go too dark than too light.
-
Cover the other half of each cupcake with the red icing, make sure not to cover the white circle in the middle.
-
Use the black gel to outline the white circle in the middle and cover the center line where the red and white icing meet.
-
Place a small plastic Pokemon toy in the white area of each cupcake so that the food dye does not stain the toy.
