How do you thaw shortening?
Here is how you thaw shortening:
- Microwave: Place the shortening in a microwave-safe dish and heat on low power for 30 seconds at a time, stirring in between, until softened but not melted.
- Hot Water: Place the shortening in a heatproof bowl and set the bowl in a larger bowl filled with hot water. Let the shortening sit for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Room Temperature: If you have time, you can let the shortening thaw at room temperature. This method may take several hours, depending on the amount of shortening.
