How to Make Thick Unflavored Gelatin for a Children's Science Project
Unflavored gelatin has plenty of uses in the kitchen. One of its main uses is for the binding in pies, jams and cream cheeses. It's also used to make the capsules for pharmaceutical pills, photo papers, soft drinks and cosmetics. Because of the many different uses of unflavored gelatin, plenty of people like to use it for projects.
Things You'll Need
- 1 package of unflavored gelatin
- Sauce pot
- Water
- Bowl
Instructions

Boil a cup of water. Once it is boiling, transfer the water to a bowl. Then the gelatin needs to be added.

Pour in one envelope of gelatin. Stir very quickly and constantly, it will gel up very quickly.

Add a cup of cold water to the gelatin.

Stir the gelatin and put it in the refrigerator. It needs to be refrigerated for about 3 hours.

For thicker gel, add 1/2 cup of water to boil and a 1/2 cup of cold water to bowl.
