If you have two roosters and a hen laying eggs could the chicks come from both or just alfa?
The chicks would only come from the alpha rooster.
Here's why:
* Chickens have a social hierarchy: In a flock, there is typically a dominant rooster (the alpha) who mates with the hens.
* Only the rooster's DNA contributes: A rooster's sperm fertilizes the hen's eggs. The hen's DNA determines the chick's sex, but the rooster's DNA determines all other traits.
* Competition for mating: The alpha rooster will aggressively guard the hens and prevent other roosters from mating with them.
In short: While both roosters might try to mate, only the dominant rooster's sperm will successfully fertilize the eggs.
