Why is salt added while boiling egg?
Adding salt to water before boiling eggs helps raise the boiling point of the water (to a slight extent), which can help prevent the eggs from cracking; and, by extension, to make them slightly easier to peel because you're less likely to have white stuck to the shells from a cracked egg.
