Habanero, which is in the same family as a jalapeno, holds the world record for being the hottest chili measured to date. The hottest Habanero, grown by cultivator Ed Currie on a farm in South Carolina recorded to be over 2.2 million Scoville Units in 2011.
Unbred:
Among wild jalapeno, the hottest of them grown in Mexico. They rank up in the 3500 to 8000 Scoville Heat Units.
