If making an authentic Irish stew which non-authentic ingredient should you leave out?
The non-authentic ingredient most commonly found in Irish stew is carrots.
While many people enjoy the addition of carrots, traditional Irish stew recipes often omit them. The classic ingredients are lamb, potatoes, onions, and sometimes barley or herbs.
So, if you want an authentic Irish stew, leave out the carrots!
