How to Make Caramel Popcorn
Caramel popcorn is a comforting snack when you want something sweet and salty. Not only is caramel popcorn a delicious snack, it is also fun to make, so gather the children around and whip up a batch of caramel popcorn.
Things You'll Need
- 1 1/2 sticks salted butter
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup (like Karo)
- 1 1/3 cups sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Popcorn (regular or microwave)
Instructions

Prepare 2 or 3 bags of plain (not butter) microwave popcorn according to package directions. You can also use regular popcorn.

Combine 1 1/2 sticks of salted butter, 1/2 cup light corn syrup, 1 1/3 cups sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in a medium saucepan.

Cook butter, syrup, and sugar over medium high heat until the mixture becomes the color of honey.

Add vanilla to the caramel mixture.

Remove mixture from heat.

Pour caramel mixture over the popped popcorn.

Toss to coat the popcorn evenly.

Let cool, then enjoy.
