How to Eat Boiled Eggs (4 Steps)
Eggs have a multitude of benefits. They’re inexpensive, an excellent source of protein and delicious. And though they’re often thought of as a sit-down breakfast food, when hard- or soft-boiled, eggs can even be convenient. After boiling, the shell remains on the egg until it is removed, providing a natural barrier for a mess-free snack. Although the shell is edible, however, it is usually not eaten. Learning how to eat a boiled egg is not a difficult task to accomplish.
Things You'll Need
- Boiled egg
Instructions
-
Hold the boiled egg in your hand. If it is too hot to handle, run it under cold water or refrigerate for several minutes.
-
Crack the shell by tapping the egg on a hard, flat surface, such as a counter top, desk or cutting board.
-
Remove the pieces of shell with your fingers or a spoon. The hard white pieces should come off as well as the thin, transparent membrane between the shell and the egg.
-
As long as the shell is removed, there's no wrong way to eat a boiled egg. Go ahead and take a bite, slice it and serve on a bed of lettuce or chop it into an egg salad.
