How to Make Sweet Chilli Sauce
When searching for chili sauce recipes, you are going to come across plenty of hot ones, but not so many sweet ones. Not everyone enjoys a spicy chili sauce and some can't eat it due to medical reasons. It is also fun to make a different version of chili sauce to appeal to some of your other taste buds. The children in your family will taste the sweet chili sauce and prefer it over any hot stuff. Either way, this is one good sweet chili sauce recipe.
Things You'll Need
- Large pot
- 1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes
- 1/2 can tomato paste
- 1 small onion
- 1 1/2 green bell pepper
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1 tsp. salt
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp. allspice
- 1 tsp. chili powder
- Frying pan
Instructions

Cut up the onion and bell peppers as small as possible. Use a food processor if you have one.

Saute the onion and bell pepper in a frying pan. Make sure to spray the frying pan with a little cooking oil first.

Add the fried onions and pepper to a large metal pot.

Add crushed tomato, tomato paste, sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, cinnamon, allspice and chili powder. Mix thoroughly.

Cook on medium heat for 2 to 3 hours. The longer you leave it, the more the flavors have time to blend.
