How to Make Sauce for Hamburgers (7 Steps)
Homemade sauces for hamburgers taste much better than store-bought sauce. There are many different version of this sauce, so you can follow the directions to make a sauce with a basic barbecue flavor. Things You'll Need
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp. butter
- 2 tbsp. vinegar
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tpsp. lemon juice
- 2 tbsp. brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1/4 cup celery
- 1 tsp. yellow mustard
- Frying pan
- No-stick cooking spray
- Wooden spoon
Instructions

Spray the frying pan with a no-stick cooking spray.

Turn the stove on medium and add butter. Make sure the butter melts before continuing.

Dice the onions and celery; using a food processor is helpful. Add them to the frying pan and saute in the melted butter.

Add water, ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, pepper and mustard. Mix the sauce together with a wooden spoon.

Turn the heat on the stove down to low. Simmer the mixture for 20 minutes.

Stir sauce every 3 or 4 minutes until the 20 minutes is up.

Allow sauce to cool and spoon over hamburgers.
