What is treifar food?

Treif or treyf (Yiddish: טרײַף treyf, "torn", from Aramaic טְרֵיפָה tereyfā/tireypa/ṭrīp̄ā, "torn"; Hebrew: טְרֵפָה terefa/ṭrīp̄ā) is a term in Jewish law and dietary law (kashrut) for "non-kosher". Food that is permissible and fit to eat is termed kosher.
