Did the Romans make ice cream?
The Roman Empire did not have ice cream. Ice was rare and often only available to the wealthy, so it was not used in desserts. There are however records that Nero once had snow flavored with fruit juice. There are also records that the Persian Empire, which was nearby to the Romans, had a special drink made with snow and other ingredients.
