What are the three food groups?

There is no single set of "three food groups" that is universally accepted or used by health organizations.

However, the most common and widely recognized food grouping system is the MyPlate, which focuses on five food groups:

1. Fruits: These provide vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

2. Vegetables: Like fruits, these offer vitamins, minerals, and fiber.

3. Grains: Whole grains are a source of energy, fiber, and vitamins.

4. Protein Foods: Meat, poultry, seafood, beans, eggs, nuts, and seeds provide protein, iron, and other nutrients.

5. Dairy: Milk, yogurt, and cheese provide calcium, vitamin D, and protein.

It's important to note that the MyPlate system is just a guide, and individual nutritional needs may vary.
