What do africain snails eat?

Diet: These snails are polyphagous, which means they eat a wide range of organic materials, including a variety of plants and organic debris, such as:

- Vegetables, including lettuce, cabbage, carrots, and cucumbers

- Fruits, such as apples, bananas, oranges, and grapes

- Leaves and stems of plants, including flowers and grasses

- Fungi, such as mushrooms and yeast

- Decomposing organic matter, including dead plants and animal remains

- Pet food and other human-provided foods

Feeding behavior: African snails are attracted to moist environments, so they often seek out areas with high humidity or standing water. They have a rasping tongue called a radula, which they use to scrape and tear plant material into small pieces. They ingest their food through their mouths and store it in a temporary storage pouch called a crop, where it begins to break down. The food then moves into the snail's digestive system for further processing.
