How do you make a shoe vase?

- A pair of old shoes

- A sharp craft knife or box cutter

- A cutting board

- A drill

- A 1-inch drill bit

- A pair of pliers

- A hammer

- A nail

- A piece of sandpaper

- A can of spray paint (optional)

Instructions:

1. Prepare your shoes. Remove the laces and any other embellishments from the shoes. If the shoes are dirty, clean them thoroughly.

2. Cut off the top of the shoes. Use the craft knife or box cutter to carefully cut off the top of each shoe, just below the ankle. Be sure to cut evenly so that the top of the shoe is level.

3. Drill holes in the bottom of the shoes. Use the drill to drill several 1-inch holes in the bottom of each shoe. The holes should be evenly spaced around the bottom of the shoe.

4. Remove the soles of the shoes. Use the pliers to carefully pry the soles off of the shoes. Be careful not to damage the uppers of the shoes.

5. Sand the shoes. Use the sandpaper to smooth out any rough edges on the shoes. Be sure to sand the inside and outside of the shoes.

6. Paint the shoes (optional). If desired, you can spray paint the shoes any color you like. Be sure to let the paint dry completely before moving on to the next step.

7. Add flowers. Fill the shoes with flowers or other plant material. You can use fresh flowers, dried flowers, or artificial flowers.
