Why do sour sweets make you squint?
The sour taste of sweets stimulates the trigeminal nerve, which is responsible for sending sensory information from the face to the brain. When the trigeminal nerve is stimulated, it can cause the muscles around the eyes to contract, resulting in a squinting motion. Additionally, the sour taste can also cause the production of saliva, which can further contribute to the squinting motion.
