- Freshly Grated Parmesan Cheese: 1 cup, divided
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese: 2 cups, divided
- Egg: 1, beaten
Equipment:

- Colander
- Large mixing bowl
- Measuring cup
- Measuring spoons
- Wooden spoon
- Ladle
- 9x13 inch baking dish
- Spatula
- Shredder (for cheese)

Instructions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
2. Boil the lasagne pasta. Follow the instructions on the package for boiling lasagne pasta. Drain the pasta and set it aside.
3. Brown the ground beef and sausage. Heat a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add the ground beef and sausage and cook until browned, stirring frequently. Drain any excess fat.
4. Add the onion and garlic. Add the onion and garlic to the pot and cook until the onion is softened, about 5 minutes.
5. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes.
6. Combine the ricotta cheese, beaten egg, and 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese in a large mixing bowl. Stir until combined.
7. Layer the lasagne. Start by spreading some meat sauce on the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Then add a layer of lasagne noodles, followed by a layer of ricotta mixture, and a layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce and a sprinkle of mozzarella cheese.
8. Bake the lasagne. Cover the lasagne with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
9. Let the lasagne rest for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.
