Do you need to heat mulled wine when make it if intend drink later?
Mulled wine is traditionally served hot, so it is generally heated when made. However, if you intend to drink it later, you can refrigerate it after heating and then reheat it just before serving. To reheat mulled wine, you can place it in a saucepan over low heat or microwave it in a microwave-safe container.
Here are some tips for enjoying mulled wine:
Choose a good red wine. A fruity, full-bodied red wine works best for mulled wine. Some good options include Pinot Noir, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Add aromatic spices. Traditional mulled wine spices include cinnamon sticks, cloves, star anise, and orange peel. You can also add other spices you prefer, such as cardamom, ginger, or allspice.
Sweeten to taste. Mulled wine is traditionally sweetened with honey. You can also use sugar or simple syrup. Add the sweetener slowly and adjust to your taste.
Heat the wine gently. Do not boil mulled wine or it will lose its flavor. Slowly heat the wine over low heat until it is just simmering.
Serve hot. Mulled wine is best served hot and is the perfect winter warmer.
