Why does brandy warm you up?
The main reason why drinking brandy, or any alcoholic beverage, makes you feel warm is due to the dilation of blood vessels caused by alcohol. When alcohol enters the bloodstream, it causes the blood vessels to widen, allowing more blood to flow near the skin's surface. This increased blood flow leads to a sensation of warmth and flushing in the face and other areas of the body, giving you the impression of being warmer. However, it's essential to note that this initial warming effect is temporary, and your body can lose heat more rapidly as a result of the dilated blood vessels. Maintaining actual body heat in cold conditions requires proper clothing and staying dry, rather than relying solely on alcohol for warmth.
