Can you keep crayfish in a goldfish tank?

Crayfish should not be kept in a goldfish tank.

Crayfish are active, nocturnal predators that can grow up to 5 inches long. They require a spacious aquarium with plenty of hiding places and a water temperature between 65-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Crayfish are also escape artists, so a secure lid is essential.

Goldfish are peaceful, cold-water fish that prefer a water temperature between 60-70 degrees Fahrenheit. They are also relatively slow-moving and can be easily harassed by crayfish.

In addition, crayfish are known to eat small fish, including goldfish. Therefore, it is not advisable to keep these two species together in the same tank.
