How to Cook Giant Scallops (8 Steps)
Scallops are a type of shellfish, found in oceans all around the world. A delicious meat, scallops are very versatile as they can be sauteed, baked or deep fried, just to name a few. This recipe serves 2.
Things You'll Need
- 4 giant (or jumbo) scallops
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1/4 cup rosemary
- 1 lemon, halved
Instructions

Rinse scallops under cold water and pat dry with paper towel.

Sprinkle salt and pepper on both sides of scallops.

Place large skillet over high heat. Allow skillet to heat so that it's perfectly hot before you add scallops.

Combine olive oil and rosemary into medium bowl and mix.

Squeeze both lemon halves into oil and rosemary mixture. Stir well.

Add scallops to oil mixture and move around until completely covered.

Place scallops in skillet and cook, searing for 4 minutes on each side. When done, scallops will be crispy and brown on both sides, but soft and juicy in the middle.

Place on paper towel to drain oil and serve.
