Can persons allergic to seafood take cod liver oil?
It's not recommended for people allergic to seafood to take cod liver oil.
Here's why:
* Cod liver oil is derived from the liver of cod fish.
* Seafood allergies are triggered by proteins found in fish. These proteins can be present in cod liver oil, even after processing.
While some people with mild seafood allergies might be able to tolerate cod liver oil, it's always best to err on the side of caution and avoid it entirely.
If you have a seafood allergy, consult with your doctor or allergist before taking any supplements, including cod liver oil. They can advise you on safe alternatives and help you manage your allergy.
