What temperature do Brine shrimp like?

Brine shrimp (Artemia spp.) are small, shrimp-like crustaceans that thrive in a wide range of temperatures.

Optimal temperature range: Brine shrimp can survive in temperatures ranging from 50°F (10°C) to 95°F (35°C), with an optimum temperature range between 75°F (24°C) and 85°F (29°C).

Tolerance range: Brine shrimp can tolerate temperatures up to 105°F (41°C) for short periods but may become stressed or die at prolonged exposures to temperatures above 95°F (35°C).

Effect of temperature on growth and reproduction: Brine shrimp growth and reproduction are heavily influenced by temperature. Warmer temperatures speed up the growth rate and reproductive cycles of brine shrimp, leading to larger populations in a shorter amount of time. However, temperatures above the optimum range can slow growth, decrease reproductive success, and increase mortality.

Survival strategies: Brine shrimp exhibit various survival strategies in response to temperature fluctuations. When conditions become too hot or cold, they may produce cysts, which are resting stages that can withstand harsh conditions and resume development when temperatures become more favorable.
