* 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, divided, softened
* 1 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
* 4 large eggs
* 2 cups half and half
* 1 teaspoon salt
* Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
* 1 cup of shredded Gruyère cheese
* 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley leaves
* 1 cup diced bacon, cooked until crisp
Instructions:
1. Make the Crust:
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large bowl, blend 3/4 cup (1.5 sticks) of the softened butter with the flour and salt until it resembles coarse crumbs.

- Fold the edges under and crimp to form a crust.
3. Bake the Crust:
- Bake the crust in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown. Let it cool completely.
4. Make the Filling:
- In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, half and half, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Stir in the Gruyère cheese, parsley, and cooked bacon.
5. Assemble the Quiche:
- Pour the egg mixture into the cooled pie crust.
- Dot the remaining 1/4 cup (half a stick) of softened butter on top.
6. Bake the Quiche:
- Bake the quiche in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the center is set and the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing and serving.
