I need a Recipe for Spaghetti Sauce that will serve 200 St. Joseph Table celebration at church?
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound Italian sausage, casings removed
- 2 (28-ounce) cans crushed tomatoes
- 2 (15-ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup red wine
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)
Instructions:
1. In a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat, heat the olive oil.
2. Add the onions and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
3. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute more, or until fragrant.
4. Add the ground beef and Italian sausage and cook until browned, about 5 minutes.
5. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, water, and red wine.
6. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours.
7. Stir in the basil, parsley, salt, and pepper.
8. Serve over cooked spaghetti with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
