Where was beef stroganoff invented?
Beef stroganoff was invented in Russia in the 19th century. It is believed that the dish was named after Count Alexander Grigorievich Stroganoff, a prominent Russian statesman and diplomat who lived from 1795 to 1854. The exact origins of the dish are not known, but it is thought that it was created by a French chef who was working for Count Stroganoff.
