What is the ground beef weight change from raw to cooked?
Ground beef loses about 25% of its weight when cooked. This is because the fat in the ground beef renders out during cooking, leaving behind the lean meat. For example, if you start with 1 pound (16 ounces) of raw ground beef, you will end up with about 12 ounces of cooked ground beef.
