What is hickory white corn?

Hickory king or hickory white corn (maize) is an heirloom open pollinated variety which traces back to the North Carolina mountains in the 1800’s. These ears range in size from 8-12 inches and have deep kernels that are white with a red cob which will sometimes have pink tips. Some people say the kernels have a distinct hickory nut taste. Hickory king corn is a good general-purpose corn which may be used for popping, milling, silage, or livestock feed.
