What do flying fish eat?
Flying fish are carnivores, meaning they eat other animals. Their diet primarily consists of:
* Plankton: Tiny organisms like crustaceans, algae, and other small invertebrates that they filter from the water.
* Small fish: They also eat small fish like anchovies, sardines, and other species that live near the surface.
* Squid and other cephalopods: Occasionally, they might catch small squid or other cephalopods.
They use their powerful tails to propel themselves out of the water and glide for short distances, allowing them to escape predators and find food.
