What is the average weight of yellow finned tuna?
Yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) are large, fast-swimming fish found in tropical and subtropical oceans. They are an important commercial species, and are also popular among sport fishermen. The average weight of a yellowfin tuna is between 20 and 40 pounds, although some specimens can grow much larger. The largest yellowfin tuna on record weighed 429 pounds, and was caught off the coast of Japan in 1932.
