How do you know if your guppy fish is pregnant?

1. Look for a gravid spot. The gravid spot is a dark, triangular-shaped area located at the base of the female guppy's belly. It is caused by the accumulation of melanin, a pigment that is also responsible for the dark coloration of the guppy's tailfin and dorsal fin. The gravid spot will become more prominent as the female guppy gets closer to giving birth.

2. Observe the female's behavior. Pregnant female guppies will often exhibit certain behaviors, such as:

* Swimming near the surface of the water

* Hiding more frequently

* Becoming less active

* Eating more frequently

* Displaying a swollen belly

3. Check for fry. If you see small, dark-colored fry swimming in the tank, then it is likely that your female guppy has given birth. Fry will typically appear within 24-48 hours of the female guppy giving birth.
