How to Rinse a Can of Tuna (4 Steps)
Fish is an important part of a heart-healthy diet and canned tuna is an easy way to provide you and your family with its benefits. Canned tuna is perfectly safe to eat directly out of the can, with no further preparation necessary; however, rinsing the tuna before eating it can remove excess sodium, and in the case of tuna that is packed in oil, rinsing it can remove some of the excess calories. Rinsing your tuna will also make an already healthy meal choice even healthier.
Things You'll Need
- Can opener
- Strainer or colander
- Fork

Instructions
-
Open the can of tuna with a can opener and put it into a strainer or colander.

-
Let the tuna sit in the strainer in the sink for a few minutes to drain off the water.
