What is the correct name for a cold blooded fish?
There is no "correct name" for a cold-blooded fish because all fish are cold-blooded (ectothermic).
Here's why:
* Cold-blooded vs. Warm-blooded: Cold-blooded animals rely on external sources like the sun or environment to regulate their body temperature. Warm-blooded animals (like mammals and birds) generate their own internal heat.
* Fish and temperature: Fish don't have the internal mechanisms to maintain a constant body temperature. Their body temperature fluctuates with the temperature of their surrounding water.
Therefore, while it's common to hear the term "cold-blooded fish," it's redundant because all fish are naturally cold-blooded.
