How To Refinish Kitchen Cabinets?

Materials

* Sandpaper in various grits (80, 100, 120, 220)

* Wood filler

* Putty knife

* Primer

* Paint (in the color of your choice)

* Paintbrushes or rollers

* Drop cloths

* Safety goggles

Instructions

1. Prepare the cabinets. Remove all hardware from the cabinets and fill any holes with wood filler. Let the wood filler dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2. Sand the cabinets. Start with 120 grit sandpaper to remove any rough spots or old paint. Then sand with 150 grit sandpaper to smooth out the surface. Finally, sand with 220 grit sandpaper to create a fine finish.

3. Apply primer. Apply a coat of primer to the cabinets. This will help the paint to adhere better. Let the primer dry completely according to the manufacturer's instructions.

4. Apply paint. Paint your cabinets in the color of your choice. Apply two to three coats of paint, allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next.

5. Reinstall the hardware. Once the paint is dry, reinstall the hardware.

6. Enjoy your newly refinished kitchen cabinets!
