### Preparing a carbon steel wok before first use (also called seasoning)
1. Preparation:
- Clean and dry the pan.
- Apply a thin layer of oil to it and bring the pan to medium heat.
- Move the pan around so the entire pan gets the chance to be heated.

3. Final seasoning:
- After rinsing and drying the pan for the final time, apply a little bit of oil and wipe the pan until the oil is spread evenly and has a shiny sheen.
- Your carbon steel wok is ready to use.
General maintenance tips for a wok pan:
- Wash the wok with hot water after each use. Avoid using soap or detergents as they can remove the seasoning.
- Dry the wok thoroughly to prevent rust.
- Reapply a thin layer of oil to the wok after each use. This will help to preserve the seasoning and prevent the wok from rusting.
- Store the wok in a cool, dry place.
